Natural materials

The ambition of Happy Haus is to be a different label, which aim is to be transparent and simply tries to do the best, for you and for the environment, by selecting the most natural materials, or those that last the longest to respect our double commitment: to limit our ecological impact, and to offer you clothes that will become more beautiful over time.

DENIM
CERTIFIED OR
RECYCLED

Denim is the basis of the Happy Haus collection: the material we love and use the most, because it is timeless by nature and certainly the one that ages the best. This fabric thus seems to us to be the best weapon against the “planned” obsolescence of our clothes and our over-consumption.

However, denim is a fabric that often travels too much by plane and consumes a lot of water, thus causing, in its entirety, a serious attack on our environment. That’s why we only use denim, which is either eco-friendly – using less water, or recycled.

All are certified by the main international eco-labels.

LINEN,
THE MOST
ECOLOGICAL FABRIC

Flax cultivation requires very little fertilizer, pesticides and water because it does not need irrigation: it uses all the natural resources of the soil. Flax does not produce waste, because the whole plant is used to make a product in this material.

All constituents of the plant are biodegradable, which makes Happy Haus linen pieces also biodegradable.

TENCEL,
THE MATERIAL MADE FROM RECYCLED WOOD

Tencel, less known than the previous ones, is an ecological material produced from wood pulp and a non-toxic solvent. Tencel is very popular in textiles, as it is a breathable and resistant fabric, very comparable to silk. It is sometimes called vegetable silk.

The wood pulp used for the production of lyocell comes from trees planted specifically for its production. The pine, eucalyptus and bamboo forests are certified sustainable and have a low environmental impact. Eucalyptus, for example, only needs the amount of rainwater to grow, without pesticides or an intensive irrigation system.

POPLIN,
THE ORGANIC & CHIC COTTON

Cotton poplin is a particularly dense, slightly satiny and fluffy fabric, as easy to care for and resistant as cotton itself. It is a fabric whose very tight weave is made from two cotton threads of different thicknesses. This weaving technique gives the fabric its chic and smooth appearance.

Cotton poplin is a light, comfortable material that prevents the risk of allergies. At Happy Haus we love using it to make our shirts.

LA POPELINE, LE COTON ORGANIQUE & CHIC

100% COMPOSTABLE BUTTONS

The buttons on Happy Haus clothes are made of corozo, to avoid the use of plastic. This is a natural material made from the seeds of the corozo palm. Also known as vegetable ivory, corozo is a vegetal and biodegradable material.

The production of Corozo buttons does not require the felling of trees, as the buttons are made from the nuts from the trees. Corozo seeds fall naturally and are then harvested for making buds.
